what’s your digits?

last year around this time, strawberry singh did a cool project called "what's your digits?"  i wasnt blogging then (or even taking pics) so i missed out on it.  this year she's doing it again, but from the perspective of how much mesh has changed our second lives and our avatars.

1. How has the introduction of mesh affected your SL, if at all? Are you open to wearing mesh often or do you still shy away from it?

mesh has definitely affected my sl, i used to complain constantly about how sculpty things would go into my body.  i hated it soo much.  so when the first mesh things came out, i was all over it.  pretty much everything i wear is mesh now, although i still have complaints about mesh hairs from time to time.  im not a huge fan of the helmety look that it can give at times, and i really prefer my hairs to move and blow in the "breeze".  im really hoping that they make more advancements in that area and possibly combine mesh and flexi more.  our house is mesh, and im gradually adding more mesh furniture – im a total prim whore, so mesh definitely helps in that area.

2. Have you changed your shape to fit into mesh? If so, did you go bigger or smaller?

i haven't really had to change my shape at all to adapt to mesh – im one of the lucky ones that stuff fits perfectly right out of the box.  i have changed my avatar a little bit in the last year though, just making little tweaks here and there.  oddly (considering the complaints ive heard) when i changed it, i just went up one standard size and everything still fits perfectly.

my boyfriend, however, did have a lot of problems finding things that fit him.  even though his shape is pretty average sized – not hulking, and not tiny and emo – it seemed like there was no standard size for guys that had normal sized shoulders, and a nice (non-flat) ass.  that seems to be a complaint of a lot of guys ive spoken to as well, so im not really sure how the guys standard sizing was done.

3. Do you think the mesh deformer will resolve a lot of the issues people seem to have with mesh and will it encourage you to wear mesh more often, if you don’t already?

i finally had to rework his shape some to keep the proportions but get mesh to fit, but i dont think most guys will have the patience to bother with that.  im hoping that the mesh deformer will take care of these issues!  id love for everyone to be able to wear mesh and have it fit them perfectly too.

  1. That's my biggest pet peeve about mesh hair, even though I love it like crazy, I hate that helmet look. I love having some fly away  hairs and hair that has motion.
    Thank you for participating!
